Celebrating The Legacy Of Aretha Franklin
Join special guest conductor Lucas Waldin, celebrated Broadway songstress Capathia Jenkins, Georgia's very own crooner Ryan Shaw and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra as they celebrate the lasting legacy of the bonafide Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. Performing updated arrangements of Franklin classics like Chain Of Fools, Amazing Grace, Respect, Think, Natural Woman and more, the ensemble does her music proud during the prestigious Tucson Jazz Festival.
Forever synonymous with soul music at the height of its gospel awakening, Aretha Franklin and her powerful set of vocal pipes ruled the late 60s with hit after constant hit, continuing to rule the charts well into the 70s and 80s thanks to collaborations with the likes of Luther Vandross, Curtis Mayfield and George Micheal. Right up until her death in 2018, she continued to tour and release, remaining a true icon in the industry thanks to spell-binding, electrically-charged performances and that inimitable voice.
