ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE!

Jon Batiste is a gifted musian/performer who emulates hope and joy. His music is wonderfully diverse, from classical, to jazz, dance, and spiritual. Whatever genure, ultimately it is ispirational, and fun. My wife and I had a beautiful experience!

INSPIRATIONAL

To say that Jon Batiste is a musical genius is to underestimate his talent. He is an awe inspiring person and he breathes love and optimism. In these sad hateful times I was uplifted to the ozone’s by his perfomance and that of his whole ensemble. I Sam only sad that the show had to end!

JON BATIISTE @ ACL LIVR

It was amazing.. besides singing and dancing he played every instrument on the stage from the Sax to a mouth organ. He had the audience singing different songs including if you’re happy and you know it, you are my sunshine. At the closing he brought out an acoustic group and wandered through the audience even up into the balcony as we sang along to a short meditative tune he had taught us. And I thought I had skipped choir😉 and he played some Beethoven

NOT FOR A TRUE JAZZ FAN

Jon Batiste ranks among the better pianists on today's scene. But he's too distracted by his need for genre-resistant fame to bother with creative improvisation at the piano or generating authentic swing (try Monty Alexander. Or Oscar Peterson). The claims that he's an innovator in his "philosophic" approach to his musical experience are, to say the least, hyperbolic. But be sure to see "American Symphony" on Netflix. If Batiste's accessible music along with the unabated close-ups of his face continue to stir thoughts and emotions, then he may be "your thing." As for me, I'd rather read the best-selling book by his talented wife, Suleika Jaouad.
